Medical Practices & Clinics

IT for Physician Offices and Clinics Across the Inland Empire

Your EHR, lab interfaces, e-prescribing and phones all have to work before the first patient checks in. Integrity Tech keeps Inland Empire medical offices running and helps them meet the HIPAA Security Rule, from a single-physician office in Upland to a multi-site clinic group in Riverside.

HIPAA Expects More Than a Firewall

The HIPAA Security Rule requires every covered practice to run a risk analysis, control who can access electronic health information, keep audit logs, back up data and have a plan for emergencies. Business associates, including your IT provider, billing service and cloud vendors, must sign business associate agreements (BAAs).

Enforcement is real and current. HHS proposed a significant update to the Security Rule in January 2025 that would spell out requirements such as multi-factor authentication, encryption, a technology asset inventory and 72-hour system restoration plans. The federal regulatory agenda now lists a final rule target of July 2027; the current rule stays in force meanwhile.

In California, Civil Code 1798.82 now sets a 30-calendar-day deadline (effective January 1, 2026) to notify residents after discovering a breach of medical or health insurance information, on top of HIPAA's breach notification rule.

What We Do for Medical Practices

EHR and practice-management uptime

Workstations, servers or cloud connections, printers and scanners tuned so charting and check-in don't stall. We coordinate with your EHR vendor for application issues.

Account control and staff turnover

Same-day disabling of departing staff, role-based access, MFA on email and remote access, and a quarterly access review you can show an auditor.

Secure remote access

For providers charting from home and for telehealth: managed devices, VPN or secure cloud access, and encrypted laptops.

Multi-location networks

Site-to-site connectivity, consistent Wi-Fi and phone systems across clinics, and one help desk for all locations.

Email and phishing defense

Filtering, staff phishing training and patient-portal scam awareness.

After-hours security monitoring

Alerts on suspicious sign-ins and ransomware behavior outside clinic hours.

Backups and downtime planning

Tested backups and a written downtime procedure so front desk and clinical staff know what to do if the EHR is unreachable.

HIPAA risk analysis support and BAA

We document technical safeguards, give you a prioritized remediation list, and sign a BAA with every healthcare client.

Medical Practice IT: Common Questions

Do you sign business associate agreements?

Yes. We sign a BAA with every healthcare client before we access any systems that hold patient information.

Can you work with our EHR vendor?

Yes. We manage the computers, network, accounts and security your EHR depends on, and we work with your vendor's support team on application problems so your staff isn't stuck in the middle.

How quickly can you disable a former employee's access?

Same day during business hours. Prompt removal of access is one of the most common gaps found in HIPAA reviews.

Is the new HIPAA Security Rule in effect?

Not yet. HHS proposed it in January 2025 and has listed July 2027 as its target for a final rule. The current Security Rule is enforced today, and much of the proposal, like MFA and encryption, is already considered best practice.

Do you support clinics with more than one location?

Yes. We connect locations, standardize equipment and phones, and give all sites one help desk.
